Women Entrepreneurs Who Break through in Reward-Based Crowdfunding: The Influence of Entrepreneurial Orientation

Based upon social identity theory, having a strategic entrepreneurial orientation is crucial for ventures seeking funding, since (viewed as an organizational culture) has significant influence on investors’ decision-making resource allocation. However, the attitude of investors toward women entrepreneurs’ behavioral controversial. Women entrepreneurs may not benefit from specific orientations because gender bias. In this study, we had sample 5105 ‘design and technology’ campaigns with explicit information Kickstarter, utilizing computer-aided text analysis dictionary to examine whether five dimensions signals affected relationship between their performance in reward-based crowdfunding. Our findings demonstrated that tended support who displayed many autonomy risk-taking, while backers were skeptical displaying high number proactiveness. This study will enable in-depth understanding link women’s behaviors, addition determining which behavior important helping obtain funding context crowdfunding, practical perspective.
